Quality assured by the industry regulator
Our Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) provides a recognised hallmark of quality within the private security industry.
We assess our approved contractors against 78 different areas of their business. These cover topics as diverse as staff training, financial management and the company’s health and safety policies.
When you choose an approved contractor you can be sure that the business you are working with has passed a thorough quality assurance check.
A commitment to quality
Our Approved Contractor Scheme is a voluntary scheme. Any company that is part of the scheme has chosen to be.
Our ACS is a progressive quality standard. That means we continually raise the standard that companies must meet in order to be approved.
ACS Pacesetters
Pagoda Security is proud to be an ACS Pacesetter, so what does this mean for you buying our services?
The ACS Pacesetters membership is made up of Contract Security Guarding Companies who are in the top 15% benchmarking and achievement levels set by the Security Industry Authority Approved Contractor Scheme.
There are currently approximately 810 Contract Security Guarding Companies who have achieved ACS accreditation therefore, it is very difficult for the buyers of security services to differentiate between them. The ACS Pacesetters places emphasis on the importance of the annual score, making the tender process for end-users very much simpler.
In restricting membership of the ACS Pacesetters to the top 15% of SIA approved security companies, approximately 120 organisations are eligible to join. These companies, both national and regional, have proved they are market leaders in the security guarding industry and are therefore capable of providing an excellent standard of service to their clients and a high degree of care for their employees. As a client, it makes sense to include companies in the top 15% of the ACS scoring system when compiling your tender list.
Alcumus ISOQAR + UKAS
The United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) is the sole national accreditation body for the United Kingdom. UKAS is recognised by the government, to assess against internationally agreed standards, organisations that provide certification, testing, inspection and calibration services.
Accreditation by UKAS demonstrates the competence, impartiality and performance capability of these evaluators. In short, UKAS ‘checks the checkers’. UKAS is a non-profit-distributing private company, limited by guarantee. UKAS is independent of Government.
Alcumus ISOQAR is one of the UK’s largest UKAS accredited certification bodies with offices all over the world. They audit and certify organisations to many standards including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

SafeContractor delivers a tailored health and safety accreditation allowing contractors to showcase their capabilities to potential customers.
ISO 9001
ISO 9001:2015 is the international standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS).
